Application and Interviews

Application Requirements

We appreciate your interest in the Obstetrics & Gynecology Program at Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center. We offer four (4) positions each year and receive approximately 500–600 applications.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology will only accept applications via the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).

The following minimal requirements are expected:

  • USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX Step 1: Passing Score on First Attempt.
  • USMLE Step 2 or COMLEX Step 2: Passing Score on First Attempt.
  • CS Exam: Pass on First Attempt.
  • US Clinical Experience: No previous US training is required.
  • Medical School Completion: Past 5 years.
  • ECFMG Certification: Included with your ERAS application.
  • A Dean's letter and Transcript.
  • Three Letters of Reference: A letter from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of your medical school, preferably from a senior faculty member or chairman and two letters from faculty members or staff members who have knowledge of your competence.
  • No externship or observership.

Interview Process (All interviews are virtual)

Interviews are conducted in the following months:

  • October
  • November
  • December
  • January

Interview Day

  • Friday

An email invitation will be sent to you providing information and instructions for your virtual interview day. Our interview process ends with a virtual gathering with the residents later that evening at 7 P.M. Please take time during this informal gathering to ask questions and learn more about our program. You will be contacted by a resident via email providing a link to the virtual gathering.
