Interpreting Services

Atrium Health Navicent is committed to providing accurate and clear medical information to patients and families regardless of their language. We believe every patient and family member has the right to be able to communicate easily with members of their medical care team which is essential to quality patient and family centered care.

If you are deaf, hard-of-hearing, or a non-English speaking patient or family member, we provide free access to several types of interpreter services which include:

  • Qualified in-house spanish interpreters by appointment
  • Interpreting via phone for over 200 languages (24 hours a day/7 days a week)
  • Interpreting via video (24 hours a day/7 days a week)

Patients who appoint/designate someone other than a qualified Atrium Health Navicent ASL or Foreign Language interpreter, must:

  1. Be an adult (at least 18 years old), or who deny NH interpreters or approved communication tools
  2. Sign "Form A0178" refusing NH Interpreting Services

Minors may not act as interpreters.
