Atrium Health Navicent Wellness Center

The Atrium Health Navicent Wellness Center is Closed

Our priority is always the safety of our members and guests. As COVID-19 continues to affect a growing number of people in the U.S. and around the world, Atrium Health Navicent is taking measures to protect patients, visitors, members and our community. The Atrium Health Navicent Wellness Center operations including all fitness classes, personal training, support groups, massage therapy and education will be closed indefinitely.

According to the CDC, social distancing means remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible. The goal of social distancing is to slow down the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the chances of infection. By practicing social distancing, people not only have a greater chance of remaining well, but also allow our hospitals and caregivers to focus on those who do become ill.

We encourage you to utilize the resources found on the Department of Health website at https://northcentralhealthdistrict.org/ or CDC.gov for the most accurate ongoing local information regarding COVID-19.

Let's learn how to properly perform a squat. Start with your feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart. Cross your arms in front, so touch your left hand to your right shoulder and vise versa, pointing your elbows straight ahead. Now from here, shift your weight, to the ball of your feet, bend your knees, get as close to 90 degrees as you can, looking straight ahead and from here, push back up to the starting position. This going to be great for strengthening your thighs, or your quadriceps, as well as your butt, or your gluts. And it's also going to be great to work on your posture. That's how to properly perform a squat.
