Therapies That'll Help You Get Back to Your Everyday Life
- Physical Therapy - This form of therapy focuses on the body's lower extremities and back. It improves mobility, balance, strength and the ability to walk.
- Occupational Therapy - It focuses on improving range of motion and strength of the upper body to help patients get back to performing daily activities without pain or dysfunction. This form of therapy also helps improve visual acuity or addresses the ability to compensate for lack of. It incorporates assistive devices and compensation strategies to overcome disability.
- Speech-Language Pathology - This therapy is directed at the face, mouth and neck and is concerned with treating speech and cognitive disorders. We suggest that people with the following conditions undergo this therapy:
- Stroke - Do you have a new onset of cognitive issues? Do you have an inability to find the right words, put your thoughts together, or understand what you hear or read? Speech therapy services can help put the building blocks of language and cognition back in place
- Dysphagia - The medical term used to describe difficulty in swallowing, it commonly occurs following a stroke, head and neck cancer, or even the onset of neurological diseases such as Parkinson's disease. Our VitalStim-certified therapist can help you get better
