Atrium Health Navicent Rehabilitation Hospital

Lou Gehrig's (ALS) Clinic

In March 2010, the Georgia Regents University and Atrium Health Navicent Rehabilitation Hospital partnered to bring middle Georgia the only ALS clinic (also known as Lou Gehrig Disease). Our ALS clinic brings together healthcare professionals from multiple disciplines specially trained in ALS, so patients can receive care from each during a single visit. Our rehab team consists of a neurologist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, respiratory therapist, registered dietician and speech and language pathologist. The ALS Resource Group Meeting

The ALS Resource Group Meeting is an essential tool in helping patients and their caregivers, families and friends live with ALS. These meetings provide opportunities for individuals to share their personal experiences and to learn more about strategies for preserving the independence and quality of life of ALS patients and their loved ones. Participants learn they are neither alone nor without help or hope. Meetings are free and open to all patients and concerned others.
