General Surgery Applicant Interview Information for the 2026-2027

The general surgery residency match at Atrium Health Navicent (AHN) was a resounding success. We matched all six positions with five female applicants and one male applicant. We also matched with three Mercer University School of Medicine medical students! During this interview season, Atrium Health Navicent received a total of 688 applicants with a total of 59 interviews. AHN continues to use the National Resident Matching Program- (NRMP) as the mechanism for applicants and the program to enter their rank order list. NRMP uses a mathematical algorithm to match applicants and programs to their most preferred ranked choices to make the best possible match for all participants.
