Antonio Castellano’s chest pains began on his drive home from work, and they only got worse from there. His family has a history of heart disease, so he knew something wasn’t right and traveled to the emergency department at Atrium Health Navicent Peach. By the time he arrived, he was on the verge of a cardiac arrest. The clinical team used a defibrillator to help revive him and he was rushed to Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center where expert cardiologists at the Luce Heart Institute, the region’s leader in heart care, placed an artery-opening stent in his heart.
Today, he’s thankful to be regaining strength through Atrium Health Navicent’s cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program because he knows it could have been very different. Says Antonio, “They saved my life.”
