What do you like about the program: I chose to pursue Family Medicine due to its expansive range of care, catering to individuals across various age groups. I chose this program in particular because even as a medical student, I felt like an integral part of the Family Medicine team. The attending physicians and residents have consistently provided unwavering support, creating a nurturing environment in both the clinic and hospital settings. The entire team possesses extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching. I am incredibly grateful to have been embraced wholeheartedly by this family since day one!

Firstly, I love the people. After the virtual interview I found myself thinking "Wow, I think I've found my people". It was my first interview and I already felt done with the season. That initial feeling has proven right time and time again: from my co-interns to my seniors and attendings everyone is kind, patient, and willing to teach.
Another thing that drew me to this program was the emphasis on residents as teachers early on. I take the meaning of "Doctor" seriously, in its literal definition, and I'm glad to be in a program that does too.

What do you like about the program? I love the family focus of our program and how accommodating our faculty and staff are. They truly want to see you succeed and thrive in your career after residency. My co-residents are like family, and they make work better! Because we train at such a large hospital, we have opportunities to see a wide variety of pathologies, which I think has positively impacted my training.

What do you like about the program? From the moment I connected with the residents and faculty at Atrium Health Navicent, I felt an immediate sense of warmth and belonging. Everyone was so genuine, kind, and encouraging — it truly felt like a family. The program’s emphasis on community, compassionate care, and personal growth really resonated with me. Training here in family medicine has been such a rewarding experience — the learning opportunities are endless, and the support from both peers and mentors is incredible. I’m so thankful to be part of a program that challenges me to grow every day while surrounding me with people who truly care. I couldn’t imagine a better place to learn, serve, and call home for the next few years.
