Atrium Health Navicent Partners with Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council, Inc. to Provide COVID-19 Vaccines

In partnership with the Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council, Atrium Health Navicent is providing COVID-19 vaccines to participants in the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Nurses from the Atrium Health Navicent mobile vaccine team will provide vaccinations at distribution events at Saint Paul AME Church, 2501 Shurling Drive, on April 27, April 29, and May 4 beginning at 8 a.m. “Atrium Health Navicent is proud to partner with the Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council to vaccinate these residents to help slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Atrium Health Navicent President and CEO Delvecchio Finley. “To help ensure equitable access to healthcare, our mobile vaccine unit is taking shots directly to vulnerable populations who may otherwise have difficulty obtaining a vaccine.

A CDC report released in May 2020 noted a drop in routine childhood vaccinations as a result of families staying home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Children under five years of age were the most likely to be treated in emergency rooms for firework-related injuries, and teens ages 15-19 were the second most likely.
