The Intensive Care Unit is a 12-bed facility that focuses on the care of critically ill medical and surgical patients. Our expert team of physicians and nurses are skilled in critical care and provide patients and their families with compassion through this stressful time. Our ICU underwent a major renovation and expansion in 2009, updating it with state-of-the-art equipment and complete life support capabilities.
The Intensive Care Unit is located on the third floor of Cobb Tower. An intercom phone is provided in the waiting room and outside the controlled access door for communication between visitors and staff. Generally, two visitors are permitted at a time at the patient's bedside. The number of visitors, length of stay and frequency of visits may be altered at the discretion of the ICU nursing staff.
For the comfort of all of our patients, we ask that no visitors below 10 years of age be admitted to this unit unless prior approval has been obtained from the ICU Nurse. At all times, the therapeutic treatment of the patient will be the deciding factor in determining the flexibility of visitation.
