Atrium Health Navicent Partners with Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council, Inc. to Provide COVID-19 Vaccines
In partnership with the Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council, Atrium Health Navicent is providing COVID-19 vaccines to participants in the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
Nurses from the Atrium Health Navicent mobile vaccine team will provide vaccinations at distribution events at Saint Paul AME Church, 2501 Shurling Drive, on April 27, April 29, and May 4 beginning at 8 a.m.
“Atrium Health Navicent is proud to partner with the Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council to vaccinate these residents to help slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Atrium Health Navicent President and CEO Delvecchio Finley. “To help ensure equitable access to healthcare, our mobile vaccine unit is taking shots directly to vulnerable populations who may otherwise have difficulty obtaining a vaccine. It’s vital that everyone who wants a vaccine has the opportunity to get protection against this deadly disease.”
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, administered by the Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council, provides help to qualifying individuals. All participants in the upcoming distribution events have been pre-registered. For more information about the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, call 478-207-6380.
“Macon-Bibb Economic Opportunity Council is excited and honored to partner with Atrium Health Navicent to provide the opportunity for all members of the community to have access to the COVID-19 vaccine.” said Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council CEO Sarita Hill. “We have to all do our part to help the local community as well as the nation reach herd immunity and fight the spread of COVID-19.”
Atrium Health Navicent continues to provide public vaccination services at sites in Baldwin, Bibb and Peach counties by appointment. To make an appointment, visit or call 478-633-SAFE (7233). Appointments are based on vaccine availability, which is allocated and managed by the state.
Vaccinated individuals and those waiting to be vaccinated are encouraged to continue to practice COVID-safe behaviors including wearing a mask in public, social distancing and frequent hand washing.
