Atrium Health Navicent Facility Recertified as 'StormReady

Certification for The Medical Center, Navicent Health will last through 2025

The Medical Center, Navicent Health has achieved StormReady recertification from the National Weather Service (NWS), signifying a commitment to helping keep patients and hospital teammates safe.

The StormReady program provides organizations and communities with the communication and safety skills needed to save lives and property before, during and after higher-impact weather events.

First recognized as a StormReady facility in 2018, The Medical Center, Navicent Health is now one of six StormReady commercial entities in the state.

“Being StormReady demonstrates our complete devotion to the patient care experience. The communities that we serve are vulnerable to many types of severe weather. Our StormReady designation indicates that our facility is prepared to continue patient care during severe weather through advanced planning, education and awareness,” said Steve Ramsey, Emergency Management and Safety Manager for Atrium Health Navicent.

The recertification is valid through March 2025.

"It's a great pleasure to see Atrium Health Navicent exercise and support the critical capabilities that continue to make them a StormReady facility, while maintaining a strong professional relationship with their local National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City,” said NWS Warning Coordination Meteorologist David Nadler.
