Jackson, 35, is a former sheriff's deputy who was forced to take an early retirement when a virus damaged the left side of his heart. He was one of the first patients to receive an LVAD at Heart Center and days after surgery could feel his circulation improving and his strength returning. He is pleased that his LVAD will allow him to return to a normal lifestyle.
I used to go to Walmart with my family. I'd sit in the vehicle while they went in there because I was too tired to help them. With LVAD, now I can walk in there with them, push the buggy and whatnot. LVAD is to improve your quality of life.
