Ventricular Assist Device

Atrium Health Navicent Heart & Vascular Care's Advanced Heart Failure Program began working on beginning a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) program in 2011 and went "live" in May 2012. The program has a multidisciplinary team that consists of surgeons, psychiatrist, counselors, nurses, nurse practitioners, dieticians, physical therapy, occupational therapy, financial counselors, a VAD coordinator, and many other dedicated staff to take care of VAD patients. The team is joined by Atrium Health Navicent Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and the Advanced Heart Failure clinic to provide a full continuum of care.

Our Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Program Overarching Goal:

To position Medical Center, Navicent Health as a nationally recognized leader of medical and surgical care for patients with advanced heart failure.

We consist of a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals that provide expert, compassionate patient care and innovative clinical research.
