Navicent Health Foundation

The Cancer Life Center is accredited with commendation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer

According to the American Cancer Society, one in three women and one in two men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Currently, the Cancer Life Center of Macon Georgia includes 40 adult inpatient beds, a fully accredited cancer program and a number of exceptional cancer care services to include chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgical oncology.

Despite all these efforts in the area of cancer care, cancer remains a major health problem and, sadly, Central Georgia suffers a much higher incidence of people diagnosed with cancer. Additionally, cancer is now becoming a chronic disease.  Cancer survivors are living longer resulting in ongoing treatment regimens of chemotherapy and radiation.

To address this growing need for top quality cancer care and treatment in Central Georgia, the administration and board of Navicent Health have committed to the development of a new Cancer Center as a number one priority in their strategic planning.  Their vision is to build a new state-of-the-art facility, a center where from the moment a patient is diagnosed, they are taken under the wing of a trained nurse navigator to help guide the patient and family from those first crucial decisions through their entire plan of care---a center with all services under one roof so patients can receive all their care in the same place right here in Macon, close to home.

The Medcen Community Health Foundation Board has committed to raise $5.5 million in philanthropic support toward this effort in bringing the highest quality of cancer care to Central and South Georgians.  For ways to donate to the Cancer Life Center of Macon, Georgia, please click here to donate.
