Laboratory Services
Providing services to the medical staff and patients 24-hours-a-day seven-days-a-week, Atrium Health Navicent Peach Laboratory offers testing in the areas of hematology, chemistry and urinalysis. Our new I-stats equipment gets critical results even faster.
Tests not performed in our labs are referred to qualified reference laboratories.
Under the direction of board-certified pathologists, our highly-skilled technologists work in a modern, computerized lab. We provide a full range of services to inpatients and outpatients.
Within our full-service laboratory are the following departments, with a brief explanation of their varied functions:
- Phlebotomy - the collection of blood from the patient;
- Processing - the distribution of the specimen for testing;
- Hematology - a measurement of red blood cells and blood clotting factors as well as urinalysis;
- Chemistry - a test of the serum of blood for different analytes;
- Blood Bank - typing the patient for donated blood from the Red Cross Blood Center.
