Chemotherapy Orientation Classes
Learn about chemotherapy and how to take care of yourself during your cancer treatment.  Two classes offered monthly; Monday, October 12 and Monday, October 26, 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Peyton Anderson Cancer Center, 800 First Street.  FREE, regardless of where you receive your chemo.  Call 633-8537 to make reservations.

The Pink Alliance “Birthday Party”

This breast cancer survivor group meets Thursday, October 15, from 12 noon until 1 pm Peyton Anderson Cancer Center, 800 First Street. Topic: “Celebrating Survival”   FREE, light lunch provided call 633-8537 to make reservations.   

Look Good, Feel Better
Free, hands-on workshop dedicated to helping female cancer patients cope with and combat the appearance-related side effects of chemo and radiation.  Monday, October 5, 6:00-8:00 p.m., Peyton Anderson Cancer Center, 800 First Street, Call 633-8537 to make reservations.

Men to Men
Tuesday, October 6, 7 p.m., The Wellness Center; a prostate cancer support group for men recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, concerned about their PSA scores, or concerned about a family history of prostate cancer; for more information call 633-6349

Prostate Cancer 101
A roadmap to treatment and recovery for all men who've just been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Monday, October 12, at 12 noon, Peyton Anderson Cancer Center, 800 First Street,. Call 633-8537 to reserve your seat, a light lunch is served; parking is free.

Genetic Counseling
If you are interested in your own personal risk of hereditary cancer, call our Genetic Counselor to talk about genetic counseling and testing; (478) 633-6270.

Cancer Clinical Trials
Currently, there are hundreds of ongoing clinical trials in the United States. Although clinical trials are an important component of cancer care and are crucial for improving cancer treatment, fewer than 5% of cancer patients currently participate in clinical trials because they are uninterested or unaware that they exist, have difficulty finding an appropriate clinical trial that may be of benefit to them, or are ineligible to participate in a clinical trial because of prior treatment interventions.  To learn more about clinical trials call (478) 633-1738.

Mammo Marathon Day
Have your annual mammogram, Tuesday, October  13, 7am until 6 pm, no appointment necessary at Breast Care Center Navicent Health at 800 First Street, Diagnostics Hardeman at 1650 Hardeman Avenue, or Diagnostics Zebulon at 5925 Zebulon Road. If you are over 40 and have no breast health issues, no written doctor's order is required for an annual screening mammogram.  Financial assistance available for those who qualify.
