Auxilians Contributed $100,575 and 28,000 Hours in Fiscal Year 2015

MACON, GA (Wednesday, October 7, 2015) - The Medical Center, Navicent Health (MCNH) today installed its new Auxiliary officers at a luncheon in MCNH's Albert Luce Heart Institute.

The incoming leaders for the 2016 fiscal year are as follows:

  • Vivian Thomas, President
  • Joyce Schafer, President-Elect
  • Marvin O'Dillon, Treasurer
  • Mary Robertson, Recording Secretary
  • Helen Tucker, Corresponding Secretary

“Our Auxiliary is a significant part of the framework of our hospital, and our officers support the Auxiliary with competent leadership. Through their leadership, officers strengthen the Auxiliary as a whole and in turn, the hospital and the community benefit from their services,” said Missi Upshaw, Director of Media Relations and Volunteer Resources for MCNH.

During fiscal year 2015, the Auxiliary raised more than $100,575 through various fundraisers. Funds will be used at MCNH for various projects, and will also assist four college students and one graduating high school senior with scholarships. In addition to monetary contributions, Auxilians have also contributed more than 28,000 hours of service to the Medical Center, Navicent Health during the past year.

“This past year, our Auxiliary added 55 new adult and teen volunteers, and we continue to seek new volunteers to join our dynamic Auxiliary. We invite those who are interested in serving the health needs of our community to join us,” said Upshaw.

Those interested in joining the MCNH Auxiliary may contact the MCNH Office of Public Relations at 478.633.1353.
