Vaccines Still Available for Georgians 12 and Older
Atrium Health Navicent partnered with the Baldwin County School District to vaccinate students and school staff against COVID-19 during a special vaccination event on Friday at Navicent Health Baldwin.
Due to cold storage requirements, Atrium Health Navicent is one of the few local providers of the Pfizer vaccine, the only shot currently approved for use in children as young as 12.
“Atrium Health Navicent is proud to do our part to help make summer safer for these Baldwin County students, their families and school staff members by providing them with protection against COVID-19,” said Atrium Health Navicent President and CEO Delvecchio Finley. “Our partnerships with local schools and others in the community are helping to improve vaccine access, ensuring that anyone who wishes to receive a vaccine can be afforded that opportunity. Slowing the spread of this deadly pandemic through public vaccination services is just another way that Atrium Health Navicent is working to improve the community’s health and wellness, elevate hope and advance healing for all.”
Those vaccinated during Friday’s event will return to Navicent Health Baldwin for their second doses in June.
“The Baldwin County School District is excited to partner with Atrium Health Navicent to provide COVID-19 Pfizer vaccines to our students 12 years and older and their families,” said Baldwin County School Superintendent Dr. Noris Price. “This vaccination event is a great opportunity to provide our students with the chance to receive an additional layer of protection against the coronavirus.”
Public vaccination services are available at Navicent Health Baldwin, and at locations in Bibb and Peach County, for individuals aged 12 and up. A parent or guardian must accompany minors to vaccination appointments.
To make an appointment, visit www.CovidsafeGA.org or call 478-633-SAFE (7233). Appointments are based on vaccine availability, which is allocated and managed by the state.
Vaccinated individuals and those waiting to be vaccinated are encouraged to continue to practice COVID-safe behaviors including wearing a mask in public, social distancing and frequent hand washing.
