Annual Race Benefits Children's Hospital, Atrium Health Navicent Initiatives

MACON, GA (Tuesday, November 17, 2015) - The 23rd Annual Reindeer Run & Santa Stroll - benefiting Children's Hospital, Atrium Health Navicent - will take place on Saturday, December 5. Funds from the race will support Atrium Health Navicent Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital's “Healthy Me” childhood obesity program.

Approximately 1,000 participants will race through downtown Macon in a race that will begin and end at Macon's Tattnall Square Park. There are options available for the entire community, including the 5K run, 3K Junior run for ages 5-16, one mile stroll and brand new this year, a10K run option. All events begin at 8:30 a.m.

Those wishing to participate may register online at navicenthealth.org/donate until midnight on Monday, November 30 and registration will also be available on race day.

“The Reindeer Run and Santa Stroll is one of Macon's premier races, an event that people look forward to each year to kick off their holiday season. This event not only promotes physical health and wellness for its participants, but also raises needed funds to assist with the health and wellness of children receiving care at Atrium Health Navicent Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital,” said Cal Hays, Chair of the Navicent Health Foundation.

As a nonprofit hospital, Atrium Health Navicent Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital relies on donations to provide high quality healthcare to pediatric patients in our region. Past support from the Reindeer Run & Santa Stroll has funded the expansion of the Pediatric and the Neonatal Intensive Care Units, the Healthy Me program and numerous other projects.
