Partners Launch 2020 Healthcare Innovation Challenge

Entrepreneurs Invited to Propose Solutions to Real World Healthcare Challenges

Atrium Health Navicent - in partnership with Atlanta Tech Village, Georgia HIMSS and TAG Digital Health - announces the launch of the 2020 Georgia Healthcare Innovation Challenge, with the mission of fostering collaboration between medical and technology providers to improve the delivery of healthcare in Georgia.

The challenge kicked off on Thursday, July 30 with a reverse pitch event. Two Georgia healthcare CEOs presented specific, real-world challenges they hope to solve through the Challenge, and invited the ecosystem to propose potential solutions.

Challenge 1: Predictive Modeling

Presented by Dale Boylston, CEO of TC2

The goal for those who accept this challenge is to create a solution to identify at risk individuals in order to improve their care delivery and experience.

Challenge 2: Pediatric Asthma

Presented by Laura Gentry, CEO of Medical Center of Peach County, Atrium Health Navicent

The goal for those who accept this challenge is to create a novel approach to assist children and teenagers managing their asthma "We are excited to participate in the Georgia Healthcare Innovation Challenge. We have the opportunity to work with innovators to find a solution to help young children and teens manage their asthma. We want to find a digital solution that could make managing asthma engaging and even fun. We're looking forward to what these bright minds can come up with," said Laura Gentry, CEO of Medical Center of Peach County, Atrium Health Navicent in Byron, Ga.

Those who accept the Challenge will participate in a 13-week program that will culminate on October 29 with a forward pitch event, where Challenge finalists will present their proposals to the Georgia Healthcare Innovation Challenge Partners and the industry at large. The Challenge winners will be provided a nurturing and creative environment, beta clients and partners, and industry support in order to bring their solution to market.
