Navicent Health Partners with Museum of Arts and Sciences to Offer First Saturday

Collaboration Provides Free Museum Admission for Public on First Saturday of the Month

MACON, GA (Wednesday, April 27, 2016) - The Navicent Health Foundation (formerly the Medcen Community Health Foundation, Navicent Health) will continue its collaboration with the Museum of Arts and Sciences through 2016 to bring central Georgians First Saturday, a day of scavenger hunts, nature walks and hands-on activities. Thanks to the Atrium Health Navicent Foundation's generous support, admission to the museum will be free to the public on the first Saturday of each month.

Those attending First Saturday will have access to all museum exhibits at no charge. In addition, Atrium Health Navicent Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital will present various topics to address the health and wellness of children in the community. The following First Saturday events are scheduled at the Museum of Arts and Sciences, 4182 Forsyth Road in Macon:

  • November 7 - Infant Prematurity Awareness
  • December 5 - Healthy Me, Healthy Living for Kids
  • February 6 - Child Passenger Car Seat Safety
  • March 5 - Kids' Teddy Bear Clinic for sick and injured teddy bears
  • April 2 - Pediatric Autism Awareness
  • May 7 - Pediatric Asthma Awareness
  • June 4 - Pediatric Immunizations

This is a wonderful educational opportunity that central Georgian's should take advantage of, and our hope is that, through the educational programs provided by Atrium Health Navicent Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital, the children in our community will lead safer, healthier lives,” said Ellen Terrell, Chief Development Officer for the Navicent Health Foundation.
