Navicent Health Director to Serve on National Quality Award Committee

Selection Speaks to Atrium Health Navicent's Quality & Excellence

Denecka Randolph, System Director of Accreditation Improvement for Atrium Health Navicent, has served on the 2019 Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award. The Baldridge Performance Excellence Program, which provides value to U.S. organizations and the nation's economy, is successful thanks to the dedicated efforts of volunteers like Randolph. Randolph participated in a rigorous training course that includes self-study and onsite training before serving on the annual awards selection committee.

"One of the strengths of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program is its public-private partnership and the many volunteers who contribute to its success. Without Denecka's contributions and those of the other examiners, the Baldrige Award and the $30 billion in economic benefit it has created would not exist," wrote Robert Fangmeyer, Director of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, in a letter to Atrium Health Navicent.

As a Baldrige examiner, Randolph dedicated 115 volunteer hours to evaluate organizations that applied for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and provided carefully crafted feedback to organizations on their ability to align with the Baldrige Excellence Framework. This work is key in helping organizations improve performance across the United States. Through the volunteerism of dedicated examiners, performance of programs, and subsequently, quality of life, is greatly improved.

"It is an honor to have served on the 2019 Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. This is such a passion of mine, and we take pride in what we have accomplished in elevating performance excellence and improving the quality of life for millions of people impacted by the organizations involved in the award process," said Randolph.
