Diagnostics Monroe to Provide Multiple Services, Close to Home

FORSYTH, GA (Thursday, December 4, 2014) – The residents of Monroe County and the surrounding area will soon  have access to a new, modern diagnostics center that will provide multiple services including:

  • Computed Tomography (CT)
  • Digital Mammography
  • General Radiography
  • Ultrasound

A grand opening celebration is planned for Thursday, December 11 at 11:00 a.m. and will take place at Diagnostics Monroe, 120 North Lee Street, Suite B in Forsyth. 

“At Atrium Health Navicent, we are committed to keeping the patient at the center of all that we do. That commitment manifests itself through our efforts to keep healthcare local and close to home. This new diagnostics center will provide the residents of Monroe County with access to personalized, quality care in their own community,” said Dr. Ninfa M. Saunders, President and CEO of Atrium Health Navicent.

The grand opening ceremony is free and open to the public. Media are cordially invited to attend and tour the new 3,643 square footfacility, constructed between August and November, 2014.


“We are excited to welcome this new imaging center to the Monroe Regional Medical Complex.Diagnostics Monroe will bring new, state-of-the-art technologies to our community, for the benefit of patients in our area. We are particularly excited to utilize digital mammography, as well as the new, low radiation CT scanner. The scanner is the latest technology available, and will be incredibly beneficial to pediatric patients and those requiring repeat scans,” said Dr. William Taunton, family practitioner at the Monroe Regional Medical Complex.

Each piece of diagnostic equipment at Diagnostics Monroe is accredited by the American College of Radiology. Furthermore, all technologists are registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and each physician interpreting imaging procedures is certified by the American Board of Radiology.

Diagnostics Monroe will be operated by Macon's Atrium Health Navicent, which currently operates six diagnostic centers in Macon, Ga.
