Navicent Health Baldwin Partners with Amerimed for In-Home COVID-19 Testing
Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin has partnered with Amerimed Mobile Integrated Health to provide in-home novel coronavirus (COVID-19) testing for those who qualify.
Individuals concerned that they may have contracted COVID-19 may contact Amerimed at 1-800-902-8800 to request an in-home test. Amerimed will screen callers and test individuals who meet criteria for COVID-19.
"If an individual meets the criteria for testing, they can discuss options for testing with Amerimed's healthcare provider. Testing may be done in the home, vehicle or another appropriate location, for the caller's convenience. We're excited about our partnership with Amerimed because it will not only allow us to alleviate pressure on our emergency room, but also allow individuals concerned about COVID-19 to remain at home and decrease exposure risk," said Todd Dixon, Chief Executive Officer of Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin.
Healthcare providers may refer their patients directly to Amerimed, or call Amerimed for their patients, if desired.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough and difficulty breathing.
Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin encourages the community to continue to take measures to protect themselves from COVID-19.
Wash your hands often with hot water and soap.
Use hand sanitizer if hand washing is not an option.
Avoid close contact with others by practicing social distancing.
Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects people frequently touch.
Practice social distancing by avoiding mass gatherings and maintaining approximately six feet of space from others whenever possible.
