Jason Aldean Donates $200,000 to Hometown Fight Against COVID-19
As healthcare providers nationwide face the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, central Georgia is not immune. With hospitals and care facilities located across central Georgia, Atrium Health Navicent is on the frontlines of the fight against COVID-19.
Macon native and multi-platinum entertainer Jason Aldean continues to support his hometown by donating $200,000 to assist with healthcare needs. Atrium Health Navicent encourages the community to rally behind Aldean's support by matching his pledge. Funds will be used to support COVID-19 response efforts. Specifically"¦.
To purchase COVID-19 testing equipment for Atrium Health Navicent's laboratory, allowing testing to be performed in-house and test results to be returned much quicker. To purchase virtual technology that will allow Atrium Health Navicent's intensive care physicians to assist community hospitals in rural areas. Through the technology, intensivists at Atrium Health Navicent can monitor patients remotely and consult with the care teams at each individual hospital.
To purchase personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to N95 masks, gowns, gloves and goggles.
To support Feed the Fight, a Atrium Health Navicent initiative that supports locally owned restaurants that have closed due to COVID-19 by purchasing meals from restaurants to feed frontline healthcare workers.
