Community Invited to Join Atrium Health Navicent Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital Tree Lighting Virtual Event
The community is cordially invited to join Atrium Health Navicent Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital online on Monday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. for an annual holiday tradition, “A Night of Lights,” the lighting of the Children’s Tree.
A young patient who battled Multi Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) will light the tree in honor of all the hospital’s young patients and the children throughout the communities Atrium Health Navicent serves. MIS-C is a rare, but serious condition associated with COVID-19 and other viral infections in which different body parts – such as the heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, skin, eyes or gastrointestinal organs – become inflamed.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the community is invited to join the festivities virtually by visiting www.facebook.com/AtriumHealthNavicentChildrensHospital beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6.
“A Night of Lights is a wonderful holiday tradition that celebrates the tenacity of our youngest patients, and their loved ones. Even though we will not be gathering in person, this is still a fun, family-friendly event and a great way to kick off the holiday season,” said Missi Upshaw, Atrium Health Navicent’s director of Pediatric and Women’s Services.
