Beverly Knight Olson Childrens Hospital Invites Community to Family Friendly Tree Lighting Event

The community is invited to join Atrium Health Navicent Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital on Monday, December 11 at 6:00 p.m. for an annual holiday tradition, the lighting of The Children's Tree.

Landon Holland, a three-year-old from Barnesville, Ga. and a patient at Atrium Health Navicent Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital will light the tree in honor of all of the hospital's young patients. The Mercer University Children's Choir will provide musical entertainment for the event. The hospital will also provide holiday ornaments for children and safety awareness information for parents.

Festivities will take place at The Medical Center, Navicent Health's Albert Luce Jr. Heart Institute, located at the corner of First and Hemlock Streets. Guests may park in the surface parking lot at the corner of Hemlock and First Streets at no charge.

"The annual lighting of The Children's Tree is a wonderful holiday tradition that recognizes the tenacity of our youngest patients, as well as their loved ones. It is a time to celebrate and also a time to remember that illness and injury do not take a rest during the holiday season, and neither do our wonderful caregivers. We welcome the community to celebrate the season with our young patients," said Dr. Ninfa M. Saunders, President and CEO of Atrium Health Navicent.
