Atrium Health Navicent to Provide Ambulance Service to Baldwin County
Baldwin County Commissioners chose Atrium Health Navicent EMS in a vote TuesdayBeginning in November, Atrium Health Navicent will be providing emergency medical services (EMS) for Baldwin County. Baldwin County Commissioners voted on Tuesday to approve a proposal from Atrium Health Navicent following a detailed and thorough selection process.
“Community hospital-based EMS provides the best opportunity for a seamless continuum of care for patients, resulting in improved patient outcomes and high patient satisfaction,” said Atrium Health Navicent President of Hospitals and Clinics Luis Fonseca who also serves as CEO for Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin. “With pre-hospital care being delivered by Atrium Health Navicent EMS, we expect to see a patient-centered approach, improved response capabilities and patient outcomes. Thanks to Baldwin County for their partnership as we improve health, elevate hope and advance healing throughout central and south Georgia.”
Atrium Health Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provides services in nine Georgia counties and one county in Alabama, and has operated as a hospital-based ambulance service for 123 years. Atrium Health EMS is the area’s licensed neonatal intensive care transport and a licensed medical first responder while also providing comprehensive nonemergency transport services throughout Georgia.

Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin is a 140-bed acute care facility which provides 24/7 emergency services, radiology services, women’s services and general medical and surgical services to the 150,000 people living in Baldwin County and the surrounding area. The hospital, located at 821 N. Cobb Street in Milledgeville, has been designated as a Georgia Level III Emergency Cardiac Care Center and as a Remote Treatment Stroke Center.
