Finley’s term will be followed by terms as chairman and immediate past chairman

Atrium Health Navicent President and CEO Delvecchio Finley has been elected to serve as the chairman-elect of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

ACHE is an international professional society of more than 48,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems, and other healthcare organizations. As chairman-elect, Finley begins a three-year term which will be followed by terms as chairman and immediate past chairman.

“I am honored to have this opportunity to help improve the health and wellness of communities across the nation. With the evolving needs in health care accentuated and accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, ACHE’s role continues to be vital as we equip and inspire competent, values-driven health care leaders,” Finley said. “Thank you ACHE for this opportunity. I am also incredibly thankful for the support of Atrium Health President and CEO Gene Woods, the Atrium Health Navicent board and my executive team.”

Finley joined Atrium Health Navicent as President and CEO in February 2021.

“Atrium Health Navicent has benefitted greatly from Delvecchio Finley’s skills and talents as he’s worked to improve the health and wellness for all of central and south Georgia,” said Atrium Health Navient Board Chair Starr Purdue. “As ACHE’s chairman-elect, he will be able to use those skills and talents on a national level to make an immense impact.”

Board certified in health care management as an ACHE Fellow, Finley served as an ACHE Governor from 2018 to 2021, as an ACHE Regent for northern and central California from 2007 to 2010 and on many ACHE committees. In 2014, he received the Robert S. Hudgens Memorial Award for Young Healthcare Executive of the Year.

In addition to his service to ACHE, Finley serves as a board member for the Georgia Hospital Association, the Georgia Association of Community Hospitals, and the Council on Healthcare Spending and Value for Health Affairs. His prior board experience includes the American Hospital Association, California Hospital Association and the California Association of Public Hospitals.

Finley has received numerous awards during his career, including being named to Modern Healthcare’s “Top 25 Diversity Leaders in Healthcare” list in 2021 and the magazine’s “Watch List” and “Top 25 Minorities in Healthcare” list in 2016.
