Atrium Health Navicent Partners with Bibb County Schools and Greater Macon Works for Virtual Job Fair for Current Students and Alumni

Atrium Health Navicent partnered with Bibb County Schools and Greater Macon Works to hold a Virtual Job Fair on Wednesday for current high school juniors and seniors and alumni. Available positions included entry-level jobs with the health care system such as servers, clinical technicians and environmental services technicians.

“With the state of health care constantly evolving, it’s vital that we, as a health system, create talent pipelines and utilize creative strategies to grow both our current workforce and the workforce of the future,” said Atrium Health Navicent President and CEO Delvecchio Finley. “We’re thankful for our partnerships with Bibb County Schools and Greater Macon Works that help us invest in our community and ensure high-quality patient care.”

Bibb County Schools offers students an opportunity to choose multiple career paths as part of their education, including healthcare pathways that include instruction for careers as patient care technicians and emergency medical technicians and in sports medicine.

“This partnership with Atrium Health Navicent allows us to be part of the solution. As educators, we provide students with knowledge and skills about the health care field to prepare them to be viable candidates for the workforce pipeline,” said Cassandra Washington, Bibb County Schools Executive Director of Career, Technical and Agricultural Education and CEO of W.S. Hutchings College and Career Academy. “A virtual job fair creates an opportunity to interview with Atrium Health Navicent, leading students to become employed while still completing high school and delivering on a continuum of learning that involves sustained, meaningful interactions with specific industry professionals that foster in-depth, first-hand engagement, building an actual future-ready pipeline of students.”

Greater Macon Works, a program of the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, is an interactive workforce development platform that links recruitment, skill building, and career navigation into one comprehensive system. It was developed to close workforce gaps by informing, educating, and developing students and job seekers, while directly connecting them to employers, career pathways, and local jobs.

"This is the ideal opportunity to utilize the Greater Macon Works platform to connect Atrium Health Navicent directly with students,” said Lynn Farmer, Director of Workforce Development for the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce. “Focusing on our local workforce pipeline is a critical component of economic prosperity."
