Atrium Health Navicent Expands Partnership to Provide Nutritious Meals

Atrium Health Navicent has expanded its partnership with the Middle Georgia Community Action Agency to provide meals to individuals in need. After serving residents of Bibb, Jones and Crawford counties for four years, the partnership grew to include residents of Houston, Peach and Twiggs counties this summer.

“We are so fortunate to be able to partner with the Middle Georgia Community Action Agency to expand access to high-quality, nutritious food,” said Ben Snead, assistant vice president for support services at Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center. “Nutrition is so important for overall health and wellness, and this partnership allows us to reach further into our community, helping more people to life healthier, fuller lives.”

The Middle Georgia Community Action Agency provides services to reduce the impact of poverty and improve quality of life for participating families, including providing meal assistance.

“Our mission is to provide social services that create positive changes to address the needs of the disadvantaged in our communities,” said Tammy Sosebee, executive director of the Middle Georgia Community Action Agency. “It is only through collaboration with partners such as Atrium Health Navicent that we are able to expand our reach to help those in need. We are grateful that with this partnership, we will continue to build brighter futures for all.”

Teammates working in the Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center cafeteria have been preparing 2,200 meals monthly in bulk which were picked up by the Middle Georgia Community Action Agency to divide and distribute as individual meals.

With the expansion into Houston, Peach and Twiggs counties, 8,200 meals will now be delivered to central Georgians each month. Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin also partners and provides meals serving Baldwin County and Lake Oconee area residents.
