Atrium Health Navicent Expands Cancer Treatment Offerings

Atrium Health Navicent Peyton Anderson Cancer Center is now offering additional treatmentoptions for patients with pancreatic, liver and gastrointestinal cancers with the addition of Dr. Salah Abdel Jalil. Jalil specializes in surgery for liver, pancreas, and bile duct cancers and benign diseases.

“Dr. Jalil’s knowledge of complex gastrointestinal cancers allows us to expand services offered to our patients, keeping treatment close to home and all under one roof at the Atrium Health Navicent Peyton Anderson Cancer Center,” said Dr. Paul Dale, cancer center medical director. “Precision and specialized knowledge is especially important in surgeries involving the liver, pancreas and biliary system, and we’re excited to have Dr. Jalil on our team to provide excellent care for our patients.”

Jalil received his medical degree at Mansoura University in Egypt. He spent his residency at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in South Carolina, where he completed nearly 2,000 cases. He then completed a fellowship in complex gastrointestinal cancer and hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery at AdventHealth Florida.

“My work gives me the opportunity to make a significant impact on patients’ lives, often at a time when they are facing serious and life-threatening conditions,” Jalil said. “I’m honored to bring my expertise to Atrium Health Navicent and to begin helping patients in central and south Georgia.”
