Atrium Health Navicent Dedicates Roses for OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade Float
Atrium Health Navicent is proud to continue its partnership with LifeLink® of Georgia and Donate Life America by dedicating roses to be placed in vials on the 2024 OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float. The roses will join thousands of others to create a dedication garden which serves as a featured design element on the float each year. On the vials, Atrium Health Navicent President Delvecchio Finley, Atrium Health Navicent Peach CEO Laura Gentry and Luis Fonseca, Atrium Health chief operating officer for central and south Georgia and Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin CEO, each shared personal messages of hope and remembrance honoring donors, recipients and others who have been touched by organ, eye and tissue donation.
“Atrium Health Navicent is proud to partner with OneLegacy Donate Life to help honor organ donors and to raise awareness for the importance of organ donations. A single organ and tissue donor can save up to eight lives and heal as many as 75 more. We encourage everyone to sign up to become an organ, tissue and eye donor. You never know how many lives may be saved by that simple selfless act,” Finley said.
In the United States, there are more than 105,000 people waiting for a lifesaving organ, and hundreds of thousands more whose lives could be healed through eye and tissue transplantation.
Individuals can join the Donate Life Georgia Organ, Tissue and Eye Donor Registry in several ways:
• Through the web when renewing your driver's license online
• When obtaining/renewing your license in-person
• By calling Donate Life Georgia at 866-577-4273 and requesting a registry form
• By visiting the Donate Life Georgia website
Celebrating its 21st year, the OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float continues its mission to save and heal lives by sharing the gift of life and delivering the message of organ, eye and tissue donation to the world. The 2024 OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float, Woven Together: The Dance of Life, showcases the culture of the Hopi, native to the American Southwest. The float will feature a beautiful Butterfly Dancer surrounded by traditionally woven baskets full of life-giving corn and other fruits from Hopi culture. Memorial floragraphs honoring life-giving organ, eye and tissue donors will be displayed on the baskets; transplant recipients will ride on the float; and living donors will walk alongside it. Tune in at 11 a.m. Jan. 1, 2024, to watch the Rose Parade and see the OneLegacy Donate Life float.
