Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin Achieves Pathway to Excellence Designation
Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin has received the prestigious Pathway to Excellence Program designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association. Pathway to Excellence is the premier designation for healthy work environments and recognizes health care organizations that demonstrate a commitment to establishing the foundation of a healthy workplace for staff.
“Patients benefit from the highest quality of care when our nurses have professional development opportunities, a safe work environment and supportive leadership dedicated to their success,” said Atrium Health Navicent Chief Nurse Executive Tracey Blalock. “Congratulations to Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin on achieving this designation!”
Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin is one of 11 Pathway to Excellence designated hospitals in Georgia and one of 231 in the nation.
To achieve the Pathway to Excellence designation, Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin met the ANCC’s six overarching standards that form the framework of a healthy work environment: shared decision-making, leadership, safety, quality, well-being and professional development. The review included a review of documentation, teammate narratives and comprehensive surveys completed by nearly every nurse at the hospital.
“Nurses are on the front line of care provided each day Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin, and we’re so proud that the ANCC recognizes our dedication to teammates,” said Thomas Goss, Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin’s chief operating officer. “Supporting a positive work environment and a culture of safety and teamwork directly impacts patient experience, including patient safety.”
With Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin’s Pathway designation, all Atrium Health Navicent hospitals now hold Pathway or Magnet designation. Atrium Health Navient The Medical Center is a four-time Magnet recipient. Magnet designation recognizes a hospital’s commitment to excellence in nursing leadership, professional development, community impact, professional practice, quality patient care and innovation. Atrium Health Navicent Peach became the first in Advocate Health to receive the Pathway to Excellence designation earlier this year.
Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin is part of Advocate Health, the third-largest nonprofit integrated health system in the United States which includes 12 ANCC Magnet-designated hospitals and four Pathway to Excellence-designated hospitals.
