Atrium Health Navicent Announces Key Executive Appointments
Chief of Staff, President of Hospitals & Clinics and Assistant Vice President of Strategy, Innovation and Planning Named for Central Georgia Health System
Atrium Health Navicent announced today three key executive appointments to market leadership roles on the Central and South Georgia Executive Team.
· Cynthia “Cyndey” Busbee, MBA, CSSBB, has been named chief of staff and senior vice president for Communications, Public Affairs and Community Engagement. Busbee previously served as vice president of Public Affairs and Consumer Advocacy for the Macon market.
In her new role, she will direct day-to-day operations of the executive office around board-related commitments, communication strategy and key strategic and operational priorities.
Busbee joined Atrium Health Navicent 18 years ago and is deeply invested in central Georgia. A graduate of Leadership Georgia, a former Downtown Macon Rotary Club President and Rotary Assistant District Governor, Busbee has been recognized as one of Macon Magazine’s “5 Leaders Under 40” and as Wesleyan College Community Service Alumna of the Year by her alma mater, Wesleyan College.
· Luis Fonseca, FACHE, MHA will be joining Atrium Health Navicent as president of Hospitals and Clinics. Fonseca will be driving a continued focus on core objectives and leading day-to-day and long-term achievement of financial and operational goals. He will also be responsible for facility chief medical officers, quality management, accreditation, patient safety, medical records, clinical care management, medical staff services, infection control and clinical data management.
Fonseca previously served as executive vice president and system chief operating officer for Alameda Health System in Oakland, California where he provided operational and strategic leadership to the executives of hospitals, wellness centers and skilled nursing facilities.
In addition to having a more than 24 years of health care administration experience, Fonseca is a fellow for the American College of Healthcare Executives and the California Health Leadership College, and a former board member of the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives. He has served on numerous local and chambers of commerce boards and is a U.S. Navy veteran.
· Jon-Michael Williams, MHSA will be joining Atrium Health Navicent as assistant vice president of Strategy, Innovation and Planning. Williams will facilitate market-based strategic planning, business development and service line planning efforts, while also developing and implementing a physician alignment strategy and creating an innovation platform for Atrium Health Navicent in coordination with Atrium Health.
Williams joined Atrium Health in 2015 as an administrative resident at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center and has most recently served as assistant vice president for Regional Partners Operations. Between 2018 and 2020, he co-chaired the Atrium Health Men's Diversity Leadership Network System Resource Group (SRG) which, under his leadership, was selected as SRG of the Year in 2019. He is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Health Services Executives.
