Announcing The Peach Blossom
New Gift Shop, Managed by Volunteers, Benefits Local Hospital
MACON, GA (Friday, February 5, 2016) - The dedicated volunteers of The Medical Center of Peach County, Atrium Health Navicent (MCPC) are pleased to announce the grand opening of The Peach Blossom, a gift shop located within the MCPC lobby.
A ribbon cutting celebration for The Peach Blossom will be held on Friday, February 12 at 9:00 a.m. (1960 Hwy 247 Connector, Byron). Media and the community are cordially invited to attend.
The grand opening celebration will continue throughout the weekend as MCPC volunteers provide refreshments, door prizes and special offers to shoppers. The Peach Blossom will be open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. In celebration of the grand opening, it will also be open on Saturday, February 13 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The Peach Blossom will offer a variety of specialty items, including works by local artists, gifts for every occasion, and holiday items just in time for Valentine's Day. Convenience items such as toiletries, magazines, snacks and coffee by the cup will also be available for those visiting MCPC.
“We have such a vibrant group of volunteers at The Medical Center of Peach County. We are thrilled that they have taken the initiative to open this gift shop, not only for the benefit of our community, but also for the benefit of our patients and their loved ones,” said Darren Pearce, CEO of MCPC.
All proceeds from The Peach Blossom, which will be managed and staffed by MCPC volunteers, will benefit MCPC and will be used to purchase items for the benefit of patients and guests. Through past fundraisers, volunteers have purchased holiday decorations as well as a warming plate system used to keep meals warm as they are delivered to patient rooms. Funds raised through The Peach Blossom will be used for similar purchases.
“We hope to make an immediate impact on the hospital through the opening of our gift shop. We invite everyone to visit Peach County's newest gift shop and purchase a Valentine's gift for their special someone, knowing that the proceeds will benefit our community hospital,” said Linda Reynolds, Publicity Chair of the MCPC Volunteer Auxiliary.
