The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer, and Atrium Health Navicent are teaming up to provide funding for life-saving access, education, and cancer screening for under-resourced women in Milledgeville, Georgia. Milledgeville-native Tasha Butts played for the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx before serving as an assistant coach for multiple NCAA women’s basketball teams including Georgia Tech and Louisiana State University before being named head coach for the Georgetown University Hoyas in 2023.

Atrium Health Navicent Continues Program to Help Georgians Start Careers in Health Care

Applications will be accepted beginning Oct. 2 for an Atrium Health Navicent program that’s helping individuals jumpstart their health care careers. The Bridge to Success program, launched in central and south Georgia in 2023, helps selected applicants earn an associate degree by offering up to three years of up-front tuition and book assistance, with a maximum $5,250 tuition cost.

In observance of Pediatric Obesity Awareness Month this September, Atrium Health Navicent encourages parents to not only make healthy eating, sleep and exercise habits a priority for their children, but for the entire family to help set children on a path for a healthier future. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 14.7 million children and adolescents in the U.S. suffer from obesity, and 19.7 percent of children are considered obese.
