What is a Pediatric Hospitalist?
A pediatric hospitalist is a board certified doctor who specializes in caring for hospitalized infants, children, and adolescents.  The hospitalists are located in the hospital and will coordinate all areas of care during your child's stay at The Children's Hospital.

A hospitalist is always on call and will be available to you and your child 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Though you may have different doctors during your child's hospitalization, they will be well informed of your child's condition and needs.

Who Cares For My Child?
Since Navicent Health is a teaching hospital, there are other doctors that will assist with the care of your child.  We call this your Medical Team.  The Team may include the following:

  • Board Certified Pediatrician
  • Doctors from other specialties such as GI, Surgery, or Hematology
  • Senior Resident of the Pediatric Residency Program
  • Intern
  • Medical Students

Our team is quick to respond to any changes in your child's condition and the team keeps your child's pediatrician involved every step of the way.
