We will see you through every phase of care, from pre-operative education through discharge and recovery. Along the way, you will have the support of a dedicated care team""”including your surgeon, hospitalist, joint care navigator, specialized nurses and clinical techs, physical therapists and more - all committed to helping you get back to your best!
- Orthopedic Surgeon: Performs your joint replacement surgery and supervises your care throughout your journey.
- Physician Assistant and Nurse Extenders: Work with the surgeon to coordinate your care.
- Hospitalist: Physician that works in the hospital with your surgeon to monitor and assist with your medical care during your stay in the hospital.
- Registered Nurse: Assist with your care throughout the entire surgery process. You will see them in various roles before, during and after surgery.
- Joint Care Navigator: Coordinates your surgical care, prepares you for what to expect during treatment and recovery, and helps you transition back to your daily life.
- Clinical Technicians: Help you with activities such as bathing, dressing and getting to the bathroom.
- Physical Therapist: Develops and implements a rehabilitation plan that helps you gain strength and motion in your new joint; teaches you post-surgery recovery skills, such as how to go up and down stairs.
- Occupational Therapist: Help you with day-to-day tasks like bathing and dressing and they will teach you how to use special equipment during recovery.
- Discharge Planner: Helps you order equipment needed for discharge and arranges home health services or a short-term stay at a skilled nursing facility if needed. Can answer questions about insurance coverage.
- Dietary Associate: Nutrition assistant that will visit you daily to discuss your menu options and any physician-prescribed diet options.
- Coach: Your personally chosen support person, who helps you prepare for and recover from surgery. You can choose your spouse, a close friend or a family member.
