Atrium Health Navicent Musculoskeletal Care Orthopedics

About Us

The Atrium Health Navicent Musculoskeletal Care Orthopedics was established in November 2009 on the seventh floor of the main hospital (7Main). We do nearly 1000 joint replacements a year! The nurses and clinical techs have been trained to care for orthopedic patients, just like you! Each of our patients stay on our dedicated unit in private rooms designed specifically for the recovering orthopedic patient. The physical therapy gym is also available on the same floor with dedicated physical therapists and experienced rehabilitation staff. We know that early post-operative mobility and ambulation are essential for a quick and timely recovery so plan to be out of bed and walking the same day as your surgery!

We have set protocols for nursing care, antibiotic therapy, prevention of deep venous thrombosis (DVT), pain control, physical therapy, and occupational therapy so that we can provide a seamless continuum of care and keep our patients as safe and as comfortable as possible.

Our goal is to improve our patients' quality of life and to get them moving comfortably again!

We are committed to providing the highest quality care to our joint replacement patients. We have taken the additional step toward improving patient outcomes by joining the American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR), an independent organization that collects and reports patient and clinical data about the outcomes of joint replacement procedures. Our involvement with the American Joint Replacement Registry reflects our goal to continuously improve excellence and satisfaction in patient care for those who have hip and knee replacements.
