Dr. Velimirovich was born in Pisek, Czechoslovakia. He received his M.D. from Charles University in Prague in 1985 and was certified by the Czechoslovak Board of Pediatrics in 1988. He worked as a pediatrician in Czechoslovakia until he applied for political asylum in the United States in 1989. In 1995, he became U.S. citizens.
Dr. Velimirovich conducted three years of urology research at Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia which prompted his decision to continue his medical career in the field of urology. His two years of General Surgery training were completed at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and he has completed his residency in urology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1998. After that he joined Urology Associates of Middle Georgia, PC which later transformed to Oconee Urology, PC. "Dr. V." is Board Certified in Adult and Pediatric Urology, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is providing high quality urology care for patients in Oconee area for last 20 years.
In August 2018 Dr. Velimirovich joined Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin to continue treating patients with urological needs.
