Atrium Health Navicent Surgeons Get a High-Tech Helping Hand
The Medical Center Brings Robotic-Assisted Minimally Invasive Surgery to Central Georgia

MACON (October 25)-Urologists and cardiovascular surgeons at Atrium Health Navicent (Atrium Health Navicent) will be among an elite group of physicians performing surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System. This robotic-assisted, minimally invasive surgery system preserves the natural eye-hand-instrument alignment, depth of field, and instrument control of an open procedure with dramatically smaller and more precise incisions. Used by approximately 300 hospitals worldwide, Atrium Health Navicent is the fifth hospital in Georgia to begin using this system and the only hospital in Central Georgia.

For patients, the da Vinci® Surgical System will enable surgeons to perform less invasive surgery with greater accuracy and fewer complications including a shorter hospital stay, less pain, less risk of infection, less blood loss, fewer transfusions, less scarring, faster recovery, and a quicker return to normal daily activities.

For surgeons, the da Vinci® Surgical System dramatically enhances visualization, precision, control, and dexterity helping physicians perform complex surgery in a manner never before experienced. With enhanced surgical capabilities, physicians are now able to extend the benefits of minimally invasive surgery to the broadest possible range of patients.
