Dr. Mix is a specialist in peripheral vascular and endovascular surgery. He is board certified in General Surgery and in Vascular Surgery. Dr. Mix joined us in 2009 and is an integral part of our practice. He holds appointment at Mercer University School of Medicine as Associate Professor of Surgery. Dr. Mix graduated from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. He completed his post-graduate education at Mercer University School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2009.
Dr. Jason Chapman specializes in the surgical repair of aortic aneurysms, aortic dissections, carotid stenosis, peripheral artery disease and venous disorders.He is board certified in General Surgery and in Vascular Surgery. He completed his internship and residency at Mercer University School of Medicine.His vascular surgery fellowship was completed at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. He joined Vascular Institute, Atrium Health Navicent Physician Group in July of 2014.
Dr. Schroder was born in New Jersey in 1958, and received his MD from New York University School of Medicine in 1984. Internship in General Surgery at NYU/Bellevue 1985, Finished residency in General Surgery at Long Island Jewish and Queens Hospital Center in 1989, and Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in 1991. Started his practice at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and Truman Medical Center and became Associate Professor of Surgery and Chief of the Section of Vascular Surgery. He left there to join private practice with CTVS Associates in Macon, Ga. in 2005, and joined the Vascular Institute, Atrium Health Navicent Physician Group in March 2015. He holds appointment at Mercer University School of Medicine as Associate Professor of Surgery. He is Board Certified in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He holds credentials as Registered Vascular Technologist and Vascular Interpretation. He is married to Joanne M. Kennedy MD (Pediatrics) since 1988 and has two children.
Dr. Bolan is a specialist in cardiac and thoracic surgery. He joined CTVS in January of 2005 after two years of private practice in Knoxville, Tennessee. He is now with CardioThoracic Surgery, Navicent Health Physician Group. He is a graduate of Knox College and Rush Medical College. He conducted his General Surgery residency at Emory University, and his Cardiothoracic residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is Board Certified in General and Thoracic surgery. He has a special interest in Thoracic Aortic surgery.
Dr. James L. Foster is a specialist in cardiac and thoracic surgery. He joined Macon CardioVascular Institute in July of 2005. He is now with CardioThoracic Surgery, Navicent Health Physician Group. He is a native of Lavonia, Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Biology. He then earned a degree in medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed a general surgery residency at Mercer University/Medical Center of Central Georgia followed by a cardiothoracic fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is the recipient of numerous awards including intern of the year, resident of the year, and resident teacher of the year. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. His presentations at professional meetings have included topics on current surgical management of blunt thoracic aortic injuries, cardiac injuries in association with sternal fractures, and pulmonary artery aneurysmal disease. Dr. Foster is board certified with the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Laura Reed is a specialist in cardiac and thoracic surgery. She joined CTVS in January of 2003 after six years of private practice in Kentucky. She is now with CardioThoracic Surgery, Navicent Health Physician Group. Dr. Reed is a graduate of the Universities of Illinois and Kentucky. She is Board Certified in General and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr. Reed has the distinction of being the first female Cardiothoracic Surgeon to practice in the state of Georgia.
Tracy received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia and completed her Allied Health Science Bachelor of Science from the Medical College of Georgia. Tracy attended Duke University where she earned a Masters in Physician Assistant Surgical Program. She joined Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Associates in 2006.
Jared earned a Bachelor of Science of Nursing from Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia. He pursued his Master of Science of Nursing at the University of Alabama-Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama. Jared joined Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Associates in 2018.
Melissa completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She earned her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. Melissa joined Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Associates in 2017.
Latoia is from Buford, GA. She graduated Cum Laude, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. She earned a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia. Latoia joined Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Associates in 2016.
