Celebrate Dental Hygiene Health Month at February PEP Talk
Autism Center, Atrium Health Navicent is pleased to host a speaker series for families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disorders. Free support and training is offered through Parent Empowerment Program (PEP) Talks.
The next PEP Talk will take place on Tuesday, June 13 at 6:00 p.m. at Autism Center, Atrium Health Navicent (1014 Forsyth Street, Macon). Parking is available in the Yellow Parking Deck.
The topic for the June meeting will be "Intro to LAMP and PRC Devices," presented by Jennifer Thomas, EdS, CCC-SEP. Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) is a therapeutic approach based on neurological and motor learning principles, designed to assist those who are nonverbal or have limited verbal abilities in expressing themselves. Prentke Romich Company (PRC) develops speech generated devices to assist toward this goal.
PEP Talks feature a variety of topics useful for families affected by ASD and other developmental disorders. PEP Talks are free for family members, educators, healthcare professionals and the public, and offer evidence-based information along with tools and tips for families to use at home, school and within the community.
