The specialty of Atrium Health Navicent Specialty Center is dedicated to the treatment of patients with many types of cancers, colorectal issues, and other complex medical concerns. A Surgical Oncologist is a fully trained general surgeon who has completed 2 or 3 additional years of training just in the management of patients with cancer. A Colorectal Surgeon, similar to a Surgical Oncologist, is a trained general surgeon with an additional year of specialty training in Colorectal Services.
