The Children's Hospital's Kohl's Kids Safety Zone program & team members received awards during the 2012 ""Buckle Up, America!"" Awards sponsored by the Georgia Traffic Injury Prevention Institute & the Governor's Office of Highway Safety on May 30th. The program was recognized for it's work in child car seat safety in community through free community car seat checks and awareness events stressing the importance of proper car seat safety. Since August of 2011 team members have inspected over 75 car seats and have given out over 40 car seats. The Kohl's Kids Safety Zone is a year-round awareness and education program that educates children and their families about safety issues and concerns which can reduce injuries and save lives of children infant to 16 years of age.
