Luis Fonseca

As a member of the Central and South Georgia Executive team, Luis drives continued focus on core objectives and leads day-to-day and long-term achievement of financial and operational goals.

Working within a matrixed enterprise model, Luis is responsible for Facility Chief Executive Officers, clinical and nursing practice, and fostering improvement in the quality, safety and efficiency of care provided throughout healthcare continuum within Atrium Health Navicent by creating strategies/tactics and ensuring their execution.

Luis most recently served as Executive Vice President and System Chief Operating Officer for Alameda Health System in Oakland, California. In this role, he has provided operational and strategic leadership to the executives of hospitals, wellness centers and skilled nursing facilities. He also has played a key role in ensuring that operations function effectively, and strategy is properly executed while maintaining a focus on clinical excellence and quality improvement.

With more than 24 years in health care administration, Luis is an accomplished healthcare executive with extensive experience improving and expanding healthcare services while achieving excellence in clinical and operational outcomes with respected organizations including Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System, Kaiser Permanente and Los Angeles County University of Southern California Healthcare Network.

Luis holds a master's degree in Health Care Administration and a bachelor's degree in Business with a Major in Business Management. He is a Fellow for the American College of Healthcare Executives and the California Health Leadership College, and a former Board Member of the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives. Active in his communities, Luis has served on numerous local and Chambers of Commerce boards. And, we are very grateful for his 14 years of service in the US Navy.
